You are looking at the new girls camp director...

Well I don't really know where to start cause there are alot of details to this story, but the short version is....I'm the camp director for our ward. I know...I was thinking the same things. 1) I'm too young...2) I don't have enough time...3) I already have a calling...4)Do I really know how to do this...and on and on. So anyway tonight we had our first certification activity to finish up certification for this years camp and kind of get started on the right foot for next summer. I was in such a rush and kind of stressed today so I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pics. But next time the young women better watch out cause they are so my next blog victims. My husband, dogs, and yard are about sick of being blogged about. So anyway....we made a fire, and yes it actually started up just fine. While the fire was burning down a bit, we did skits about the YW values and they were absolutely hilarious. The girls were so creative with all of the props that I brought for them to use. Then we roasted marshmellows and talked about all the yummy desserts that are fun to make around the campfire. We had a little more daylight, so we played the cup game with our water cups. And if you don't know what that is, then obviously your girlscamp days weren't as fun as mine. I need more ideas and to be reminded of all of the stuff that we did at girls camp that made it fun, so give me all your idea's people...

Novel (sorry)

I haven't had any time to update for a while cause I have been so busy with life in general that it really hasn't even crossed my mind. We finally talked our landlord into letting us use the horse corrals in the back of the property...yeah they didn't want us to use them cause our horses would destroy the weeds that were growing in the corrals. Can you tell that they aren't really horse people. Anyway...we brought up Minnie and Ellie to live with us for a while. They love it so far, and Guy is actually riding with me pretty much every day. Minnie takes good care of him and is teaching him lots of stuff. Guy is finally getting riding lessons out of me, and I do have to say that I don't really think that I am that great of a teacher. It kind of sounds like this: "Guy: How do you get the horse to trot? Sabrina: Just cluck at her." Like Guy even knows how to sit in the saddle or even stop for that matter. Oh well, he seems to be having fun and it is great to have someone to ride with once in a while. He does keep my horse in shape...kind of. I have started Ellie into my barrel racing training program...if I can even call it that. Sounds good anyway, so she is doing so great. Last year when I worked her on the barrels, it didn't really go that well. She would get crazy and throw a fit and basically stop working at all. To say the least, I was frustrated at the end of the summer last year cause she wasn't getting what I was trying to teach her. So this summer, I started her slow on the barrels cause I didn't want to run into any fights or jams. She is doing so much better, I kind of think that she is being able to handle it better cause she is more mature. I can show her something and she wants to learn more and actually try to do what it is that I want her to do. Okay, now that you are bored to death with that, I will bore you more and tell you about my garden. At the beginning of every summer, and even before that, I get bigger and better plans in my head about how I want my garden to be. Well this summer was like all the rest, except bigger. I love growing a garden and think its all great and dandy until weeds start taking over. Yeah, the weeds have been extremely bad this year and I have not been able to stay on top of them. Oh well...maybe next year. Also there has been a particular bug that has been very annoying to me. I can do spiders and grasshoppers...but not earwigs. I hate earwigs and they have been so bad this year. Not only in my garden, but in my house. Guy sprayed for them a couple weeks ago and it got better, but I still see a few every now and then. The grossest(if that is even a real word) earwig thing that has happened to me was the other day. I got a cup out of the cupboard and went to the fridge to get ice to put in the cup. I pushed the cup under the ice dispenser and out came ice and any earwig. That was almost the last straw for me. I am drinking bottled water now because I don't want to have another earwig incident until I forget about it. Now onto the really great part about having a garden...I always have fresh produce. I have been making hashbrowns straight from the garden pretty much every morning for the past couple of weeks. Today I bottled up some green beans and I hope they turn out good cause I have way more green beans on my bushes waiting to be picked. My peppers are getting bigger each day and I can't wait to make homemade salsa. Well, now that I written more than necessary, I will end and I promise to put more pics than words next time.
