Well I wanted to make my sister something for her house for Christmas. I usually am so not the crafty type of person, but decided to try it out. I think that the blocks turned out pretty cute. Hope you like them sis.

A little something...
So still no luck on finding the camera cord, so until I get my desk comp. put together, I'll have to blog with no pics. So this week, we got so much snow. It just kept snowing and snowing and snowing. I'm not very used to having to shovel snow off the sidewalk every two hours or leaving an hour early for work even though I only live 10 miles away. I took some cool pics of the snow in our front yard, so I'll post them as soon as I can.

Baby Jett...
traffic control cleared the air space and baby Jett landed safely weighing in at 9lb 1.2 oz and 20 and 3quarter inches
Yeah...this was the pic message I got on my phone this afternoon. Jett has made his arrival into a great family. You two are going to be great parents. Congrats, and I can't wait to see him in person.

Seeing Jetta off at the MTC...
I have never been to the MTC before, and on Dec. 17th I got my chance. Sister Jessica Rose Whalen arrived at the MTC on that day and so did we. It was a very bitter sweet day because we were all very excited for her to go to Belgium, but very sad that we aren't going to see her for 18 months.

Lost camera cord...
So I haven't posted in a while, its because in the hast of moving, I somehow misplaced my camera cord so I can't upload any pics. So I guess since we have looked high and low for darn cord, I will just do an update of what is going on in our life and post pics later when I finally find the cord.
So over the last couple of months or the past year and a half, our life has been kind of in a whirl. But I won't get into that I will just go through the past couple of months. I had been kind of thinking that I need to get back into school, so I put some things into play like reapplying for school and seeing about a transfer with my job. Well I applied for SUU and USU, and I got accepted to both, so now I had to make a decision about which one. On one hand we could move back into the house in Dammeron and commute to school til we could sell the house(which is still up for sale...FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR). Or on the other hand, we could move to Logan and start school up there. We both started hunting for jobs to see what we could find, and we couldn't find anything really in St. George or Cedar, so up to Logan we went. Now we went into this thinking that we could get all this put together and move up about Januaryish. No I found a job transfer with the hospital to Logan in the middle of October. WHAT...this was happening too fast. So I took the job and told them I needed to find a place to live and my husband still needed to find a job. Within a week, Guy had found a job and we were headed to Logan. We still hadn't found a place to live, and were waiting on an offer to go through on the house in St. George. So we decided to pull the trailer up to Logan and stay in it for a week. Now this was into November, so yeah it was going to be way cold. Well we survived and finally found a place to live in a house out of town. And school is starting in about a week, so things are finally starting to fall into place. And on top of that someone made an offer on our house that is for sale. So that's what is going on...and I promise some pics of the new place soon...and of all the snow that we got up here.

We are missing our puppies...
So we left our puppies at grandma and grandpa's house for the week since we are going to be traveling two weekends in a row. But we are missing them alot so I thought I would post a pic of them being cute. After I started this post, I remembered that my mom was going to take them to her sisters house to be babysat while she took Samantha up to the dr. in Salt Lake. Anyways, she would have left them at the farm to play, but there was going to be construction people there working on the house, and she didn't want them to be in the way or get run over by a tractor. So her sister agreed to watch them for the day. I didn't care either, so last night when I called to see how it went, my mom said that her sister and her mom were probably going to be in bed all day tomorrow with a migraine. I didn't think that my dogs were that bad...just spoiled. So I asked what happened...I was thinking that maybe they killed one of the ducks in the backyard or chewed up a cell phone cord. She hesitated but then decided that she should tell me what happened. I guess that they were out in the backyard playing while Kami was in getting ready to get the kids from school. Now this wasn't the first time that they were out there, they had been in and out all day and been fine. But this time, she went out to get them so they could ride with, and Dal was missing. She looked everywhere, but couldn't find her. So instantly she went into panic mode. She had to be to the school soon to get the kids, so Gma Gene started going up and down the street looking everywhere asking all the neighbors if they had seen a small brown dog. Nobody had seen it, so about two hours later, they decided to call the pound and see if anyone had turned her in. And sure enough, someone had. So they jumped in the car with relief and went to pick her up. When they got there, they had to identify her thoroughly. My grandma was stressing cause she couldn't remember which jacket she had on, but she remembered that she had a pink collar on with jewels. The pound wasn't sure cause they said that noboby usually brings dashunds to the pound, they usually get stolen cause they are expensive. Anyway the pound also told them that the lady who brought her in wanted to keep her so bad so we were very lucky. They let them take her home after paying some money(which my grandma won't say how much). By the time my mom finished telling me the story I was flippin out...and we decided that we don't want our dogs to have week long vacations without us anymore. I was scared to death, my dog is a jail bird I guess.

Somehow we got roped into this...
I'm not sure how, but we got roped into going shopping on Black Friday. I was not very excited about it when we were all sitting around deciding who was going to what store, and what they were going to get. We all had our lists and what store we were hitting. Jessica, Guy, and me had Target. We saw that they were opening the doors at 6 am, so Jessica decided that we should be there at about 4 am. I thought that would be a little over kill, but with a lot a persuasion, I agreed to be up at 3:30 am. Well that was before I realized that it was almost midnight. Oh well, what the heck. So at 3:30 am sharp, Jessica came barreling in to make sure we were up, and off we went to get in line. We got to be about 40th in line, so I wasn't too bad. We asked what time the first people got into line, and they said at 2:30 am. Who gets out of bed that early just to save some money. Holiday shoppers are crazy. Anyway, when the doors finally opened, the race was off. I was to get a shopping cart, while Guy and Jetta ran to the toy department. It was a flippin mad house, but we got everthing we went for even the DVD's that were a killer deal. Needless to say, I think that we are addicted. Guy already has plans for next year.
Back home from the holiday hustle and bustle...
So we headed to St. George to have Thanksgiving the Whalen way this year. We definately had plenty to eat and lots of visiting with the fam. All the grandkids were full of wiggles and were so excited to see Uncle Guy and Aunt Bina. We had alot of fun and afterwards, we headed to the temple grounds to see all the lights and take lots of pics. Here are some of the pics of us freezing, actually it wasn't that cold. But we did head straight for hot chocolate after this.

Waiting on Twilight...
Well we procrastinated and waited til the last second to get tickets for Twilight...and well now we are finally going in like an hour. I'm very excited to see it. When I first heard about the books, I kind of thought it was going to be dumb. I don't usually like reading books about vampires...actually I don't think that I have ever read books about vampires or werewolves or anything like that. Although I love reading but I usually read books about church or romance or something where I can totally lose myself in the story. I started hearing about the Twilight books and got a little curious, so Guy bought me the first one. That was when we were living 200 miles apart, so I had a lot of time on my hands cause I didn't have to fix anyone dinner or clean up after a husband. You all know how that goes...its pretty much a full time job and then some. Anyway I loved the book and I couldn't put it down so I read it in like 3 days staying up til like one in the morning. Well I couldn't wait to read the 2nd and 3rd so I went to the library to get them. Yeah right that was what everyone else in St George had in mind so the waiting list was a mile long or maybe a little longer. I went straight to the book store and bought them. Yeah I had them read in a weeks time and Guy was wondering why I hardly called him. He had to get his update on what I was reading. He thought I was crazy, but that was okay with me all I had to do was start reading and there was Edward in the book. I could hardly wait to start the fourth one by this time, but I had to wait til it came out. Oh yeah...I got my mom to read the and them and my grandma too. They loved them too, so then we took turns on the fourth book when it finally came out. But the most ironic thing was is that my mom and grandma got tickets to the midnight showing on opening night and I didn't. Oh well here I go finally. I'll let you know how it was later.

Our Saturday drive...
Well we decided to go on one of our usual weekend drives...although we haven't done it in a while. The price of gas has kind of put a damper on going anywhere in the car besides the necessary traveling to work and that's about it. Anyway we were so excited because when we filled our car today, it only cost $32. It's about time that it doesn't cost almost $70 to fill your car for a week. Well we went for a drive and had so much fun taking pic's and just having a worry free day. We took our weiner dogs and packed a lunch and some snacks and away we went.
Well they loved looking out the window as you can see. Once when we were driving through some farms, they spotted a pheasant...which needed barked at. Yeah they wanted to get out and kill it. I didn't let them, but I did catch a pic of it...and I'm not sure what is on its face, but it was definately worth barking at.
Oh then rooney found that he could get up on the back window thing in the car. He thought that it was way cool and Dallie couldn't bug him up there. He only got up there a couple of times...it kind of bugged him that he couldn't stand up without hitting the window.

Next we came to a lake and got out to run around and freeze our butts off cause it was flippin' cold outside cause the sun was about to go down. So we took more pics and has some fun skipping rocks in the water. And there were alot of fish jumping around eating bugs. We needed a pic of both of us together, and since we never go anywhere with anyone else, we didn't have anybody to take our pic. So we gave the camera to rooney and this is the great pic that he took.
Just kidding...that's what timers on the camera are for. That is pretty much how we take most of the pics that we are both in. But anyway I thought it turned out pretty good and I wanted to try out the black and white feature on my camera. So at the end of the day, my weiner dogs were so tired that they hardly moved the rest of the night. Finally cause lately they have been such wiggle worms.

We got a little side tracked on moving day...
So we decided to have a big moving day, and get everything packed up. Well, when you get to going through all the stuff that you acquire over the years, you start to wonder what you really should keep. So I started tossing stuff out that I knew that we could live without, and the garbage can just seemed to fill up way fast. So we started filling up the truck so that we could make a trip to the local town dump. And as always, we couldn't just do something...we had to make the most of it and have some fun.
We made the trip up to the dump, and when we got there, Guy saw an old bike laying around. It was in good shape, so he started riding it around and trying to jump it over an old cake pan that was laying around. We actually got the whole thing on video, but I'll spare you and show you the pics instead. So here it is...
Oh yeah...Jetta wanted to try it too, so she started riding it around too. Guy turned the handles around so it was backwards and her legs kept hitting the handlebars. Yeah, we were being a little silly. I found a golf club and was trying to recreate the scene from the Adam Sandler movie Big Daddy...where they are at the park and they put the sticks in the trail for the roller bladers to fall over. My version is way better.
After Jetta was done goofing around and making a complete fool of herself, her and Guy talked me into taking a spin. I don't think that you ever forget how to ride a bike even after many moons of not riding. Also you don't really realize how big your butt gets until you sit on a bike seat and try to ride it around. But that's beside the point...We always figure out how to have fun even when the task at hand isn't the funnest thing ever.

Our new favorite thing...
So our new favorite thing to do is go to the park. We actually go there several times a day. But we have to wait til it gets above freezing outside before we go, so as you can see Dal and Rooney get very anxious waiting. Dal looks out the window on the couch, and Rooney looks out the window from the kitchen counter. I know a dog on the counter, but who cares when you live in a camp trailer. Any way, they are so cute with their own personalities. The park is so big...and there are so many garbage cans to pee on for Rooney. The other day we were walking down the road and it was garbage day so all the garbage cans were out, Rooney thought that he had died and gone to dog heaven. He tried to pee on every single one. I think that by the third one he was out of pee, but that didn't stop him from trying all the rest of them. Then when we got to the park, all the ducks were bedding down under the tree, and Dallie took advantage of that. She chased them til they were all in the middle of the pond...where they should be according to Dal. Then we went to the golf course to see if we could find any golf balls, but none. Rooney was very disappointed cause that is his favorite thing. He actually has quite the collection at home and in the car. So when we got back from the park, I had to have a piece of the pie that I had made the other day, and this is what I saw when I uncovered it. So apparently Rooney stepped on it when he was looking out the window. Oh well.

New cuddle place...
So my two weiner dogs have found a new place that is so fun to take naps and also its great for looking out the window. Dallie found it first, but it didn't take too long for Rooney to love it just as much. I think that Dal likes it so much because its not such a big jump. So she can definately get up there by herself and its warm to cuddle up in the pile of coats and sweaters. Silly dogs, but way cute.

Thanksgiving Blocks
This isn't the best pic, but I was very excited about it. On saturday we had a super saturday for relief society, and it was fun. They planned a lot of crafts for everyone to sign up for. I am not a very crafty person, so for me to make something this cute and have it actually turn out is a miracle. It did take me half the day to get done, but that's okay I got a lot of chit chatting done too.

Halloween Costume
So ever since I have started working at the hospital, the ladies in my office have been way into politics. And well, I can honestly say that this has been the first time that I have followed what has been going on in the political world. Every morning at breakfast, we watch the news and have a new disscussion about who we thought was going to be the vp. Then we moved to listening to sean hannity in the afternoons, and talking about what he talked about on his show. Next we added rush limbaugh to the morning, so my day was pretty much filled with nothing but political talk shows. Well you can probably tell where this is going...we thought it would be hilarious to dress up as the current political canidates. Well we found the masks at walmarts, Jen is John McCain, Les is Hillary Clinton, and that leaves me as Barack Obama. It was a big hit at the office, and very fun.
Rooney watching t.v.
Well, rooney has figured out that he is big enough to jump on the couch and the bed. It might take him a few tries, but he can definately get up on them. Anyway, I was doing dishes and watching t.v. the other day when I heard rooney get up on the couch. I walked over to change the channel, and this is what I saw. Rooney was watching t.v. and being a typical male...hogging the remote.

Rooney being nosey...
So spiker-rooney follows us everywhere, and he thinks that he is a big dog. But don't tell him that he isn't cause I don't have the heart to tell him. Anyways the other morning when we were doing chores, I lost him somewhere along the way. So I back tracked a ways and found him right here, doing his favorite thing...being nosey. This trough is where we feed the bulls their grain, and he decided that he needed to try it out. Apparently he loved it cause I couldn't get him away from it until all traces of grain were gone. Now when we do chores, he is the first one to the grain trough, go figure. Nosey weiner dog.

Watering Cows in the Pasture...
So we have a herd of cows in the pasture. My mom has turned them into pets, so when you go down to feed or water, they all but climb into your pocket. This picture is of the bull that is with the cows, and yeah Guy is petting him. I keep thinking that one of these times, the bull is going to hook someone. But maybe not, maybe you can have a bull as a pet. My dad named the bull Romeo, so here is Guy and Romeo.

Quick road trip with the weiner dogs
Well we set off the St. George for Jetta's temple session. Guys family hasn't seen our two little one's for a while, so they went with us. I thought if we put their blankets across the back seat, they would be content. But that didn't last long...good thing I brought a bag full of dog chewies. Well after a while the chewies just weren't doing the trick, so they climbed around on us and wrestled and watched cars go by out the window. Then they got thirsty so they drank water out of the cup holder while I poured it in. You know what drinking water does...yeah they had to potty. So we stopped along the road and they found a snake. So of course, Guy had to kill it for them. Watch the video and you'll see what they love to do to snakes.

Heading to the pasture.
Well don't these three dogs look happy. They are headed down to the pasture to go hunting for critters. Lately there has been a squirrel that has been teasing them. I'll have to try and catch a picture of that. It sits in the tree and watches for them to come down, and then starts chirping so that the dogs will chase it.
I'm actually suprised that these dogs held still enough to get their picture taken. Bruiser and Rhody are usually so busy wrestling that nothing else gets accomplished. Or else Bruiser is beating up on Chubby(the furry one on the end). By the way, Bruiser and Rhody are the best of friends, except when Bruiser eats all of her crunchies, and when Rhody thinks that Bruisers frisbee is hers. Well anyway, we are off the take water to the cows.

Haircutting time
Well guy has been trusting me to cut his hair the past few hair cuts. So once I got the hang of it, I just decided to get a little creative with it. And I might have gotten a little carried away but that's okay. It was fun and once I was done, I made him let me take pic's of it. I don't know if I'll get to cut his hair again. He is kind of particular about it. But hair does grow back so I'm not too worried about it. After I had taken the pictures and laughed about it, I cut it the rest of the way off so that he could have his usual hair cut. Also I was thinking that we could cut it like this for Halloween then he wouldn't have to wear his mullet wig like last year. It would be real, and we could just about say that we are real trailer trash. Yeah...
Recap of Summer...
We started the summer out with snow. I know it was kind of late for snow, but we managed to find it way up in the mountains. And it was the first snow of the four wheel drive season for the white ford. We were doing good until the snow doubled in depth without warning. And from the looks of the photo, we were very stuck. Some four wheeler riders just happened to be up ahead of us and saw the whole thing. They came to help us out but about 2 hours later we were still stuck. Actually I think that we were more stuck. Oh yeah, we didn't have any cell service either. So the wheeler riders offered to give us a ride and that was interesting...they were very drunk. But we made it out okay and mom and dad met us at the bottom of the canyon. They knew when we didn't show up for a while that Guy had gotten a wild hair and headed for the snow drift up the canyon. They were right...it was fun.
Our next adventure was out to Delta. It was only a one day trip with no snow or mud in site. We packed up our dogs and headed to the hills to dig fossils. And fossils we found, among other things. This picture was up on a hill we found called Painter Springs. Great views everywhere!
As the day wore on, Rhody became more and more agitated that we made her leave the farm. It was pretty sad because what dog wants to be let loose in the mountains to run around an chase whatever it wants to. Yeah...not Rhody. She wanted to be back at her farm protecting everything. Rhody had a really great summer. She killed several racoons, many snakes, and more rabbits, squirrels, and mice than we could possibly count. But she absolutely loves her kittens and her chickens. She is the most kind hearted killing machine that anyone has ever met. I'm not sure where she came from, but there will never be another like her. We love her to death.
On the ride home, we spotted a rabbit running along the road. We hadn't seen any rabbits all day long, so the dogs were happy and wanted to chase it. So they did, after Guy shot it. Well the rabbit didn't make it too far. Rhody was not sure if she wanted to eat the rabbit or continue pouting in the bed of the truck. So Dally got first shot at it. And as you can see, she is very much smaller than the rabbit, but don't tell her that. She ripped one of its ears off and took it home for show and tell. Suprisingly, this puppy new that eating rabbits was the cool thing to do.
Well on to snake eating at the farm...a very regular site on most days. This particular one started with me walking down past the grain shed to go feed horses. I couldn't figure out why some birds were going nuts around the side of the shed. Flying back and forth, back and forth. I hadn't seen birds act like this, so I decided to check out what was getting them so worked up. As I walked around the shed, I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. Then I finally saw what they were worried about. At the top of the shed, they had made their nest which was full of baby birds that had just hatched. And crawling up the side of the shed was a four foot long snake. It had wrapped itself around the crevices and holes, holding itself up so that it could get some yummy food. I freaked out and hollered for Guy to bring his gun and come a running. He came and killed the snake. The second that our dogs heard the shot, they knew there was something good to rip apart. Pretty much their favorite thing to do. They packed this snake around for about two days fighting over who got to chew on it. Then it finally got thrown into the garbage, but there were many more snakes to be eaten.

This one's for you Heather...
Well, the summer is winding down and I haven't even posted a picture of anything that I have picked from my garden. First of all we have a huge garden. My mom and I stole a couple of furrows off the end of the hay field and we got a little carried away. But we didn't know it until we had to weed it. We only got half of it weeded and then we had to get my dad to cut the rest with the swather. It was way fun and we harvested alot of stuff. So Heather I decided to post this pic for you. These are sunburst squash from my garden. I had to grow something to remind me of Harmons. Yeah...right.

Bina's New Car
Well I think that I might have the blog bug today, but I'm just catching up for lost time.(or something like that) Anyways, here is a picture of my new car. I wanted to take a pic of it before we drove it home but that didn't happen. We live down 8 miles of dirt road...so that explains the dust. And I wouldn't want anyone to see it clean cause it probably will be permantly dirty for a while. At least until we take up residence where we won't have to drive down dirt road.(that is what trucks are for)
Yet another new puppy...Spiker-rooney
So somehow Guy talked me into letting us have yet another dog. This makes number 3...yeah. But after we got this one home, I got just as attached to him as the first two. And of course he is very spoiled and lazy. Oh about the name...We couldn't decide on just one name so it took a week or so and the name spiker-rooney finally stuck. The other night he was over at grandma's house with Dallie and it was getting bed time so she sent them home. Spiker-rooney was scared of the dark so he turned right around and ran back in her house...right down the hall to Samantha's bed. And that's where he stayed the whole night, snuggled down under the covers where it was warm and safe.
